Doodle
If you schedule a lot of meetings with folks outside of your organization and want to avoid comparing calendars only to have to exchange half a dozen emails or more to find a mutual time when you can meet, consider Doodle. This integration tool can take a peek at your calendar availability and display those openings to requesting parties. Once they find a time on your schedule that works for them, they are able to secure that spot right then and there. Doodle makes it easy and can be connected to a variety of productivity tools like Slack, Google Calendar, and Outlook. Visit doodle.com to learn more.
Snagit
Find yourself trying to explain instructions on how-to's or needing to help elicit specific feedback about screens with someone over email? Snagit has a super easy-to-use screenshot and recording tool. The tool even allows you to take scrolling screenshots so you can capture what's beyond the immediately visible screen. Once you have captured what you need, there are annotation tools that help you mark up and highlight what you need. The editor is extremely helpful for those moments when verbal or written instructions are not enough and you need visuals to support your message. Parallels
Have a Mac, but, need to run Windows occasionally? There are times where having access to Windows will be a necessity for something you are working on, but having both a Mac and PC may not make financial sense for those infrequent circumstances. Parallels allows you to run a virtual Windows machine right from your Mac without having to reboot your computer to access it. Check out parallels.com to read more.
These are only a handful of viable tools to try.
While these are only three tools out of the many that we use, they are all relatively inexpensive for what you get. We're not endorsing the products in exchange for anything- rather, merely sharing what has helped us ratchet up productivity without breaking the bank.
