Opportunity

After several acquisitions, a specific managed care organization (MCO) had outgrown its three legacy systems and needed a new comprehensive application that could seamlessly handle its increased and more robust needs as it continued its national expansion strategy. In addition to legacy modernization of its existing IT infrastructure, VectorOne was tasked with creating efficiencies while maintaining compliance with extensive and varied state regulations.

STRATEGY

VectorOne carefully evaluated the current technology landscape and future growth plans for this organization to design a technology solution that could provide increased transparency, flexibility and efficiency. While managing a complex requirement set, VectorOne identified key opportunities to save the MCO valuable resources and time by creating more efficient workflows and processes. VectorOne set out to create an answer, which was a true enterprise solution that unified once-segmented business lines and optimized disjointed workflows.

VectorOne replaced several outdated Windows desktop applications with a modern, internet-first AngularJS front-end powered by high-performance, scalable .NET web services, delivering greater flexibility, speed, and usability across the organization.

First and foremost, the software helped unify three inefficient and dated software systems, allowing the MCO to establish efficient processes. More than 10 million data records were accurately converted, staff requirements were reduced by 20 percent and low-skill tasks were reallocated to lower cost positions for optimal output and cost savings. Employees of the MCO were able to configure complex workflows, giving them ultimate flexibility and empowerment. The solution helps hundreds of users facilitate the management of millions of pieces of medical documentation and claims each year.
